wiring problem

hey guys,

i have an 88 wrangler but i put an 83 cj7 front end on it. i have been having some trouble making the front lighting work. i had 3 wires on my yj front lights. so when i installed the cj7 front end i spliced the 2 hots the the connector for the front turn signal lights the 3rd wire was the ground so i ground it since the cj lights ground to the body. but the problem is that only the front driver light is working as it should the side markers both left and right do not blink and the passenger turn signal does not blink when the running lights are on. and both tail lights blink when either side is supposed to be blinking. and the rear running lights blink as well. i am a lil stumped anyone have any ideas or suggestions for me please let me know.

thanks for the help all of you out there.

You're not grounded well enough, or you have the flasher wire on the parking light backwards. I ordered a new set of park lights for my CJ and one of the harnesses had the wires crossed. It was doing almost the same thing you describe.. took me awhile to figure it out.

Unhook the CJ lights. Then reconnect them one at a time and test each as you do. For me, the problem was reversed wires on one park lamp. It even caused me not to have brake lights with the headlamps on, but I had them with the headlights off.

One wire on the marker light gets connected to the parking light wire. And the other wire from the marker light gets connected to the turn signal wire. Neither wire on the marker light goes to ground.
