Wiring Problem

How can I have a YJ 5-wire windshield motor work on the CJ 3-wire setup? I just want them to work, nothing fancy. Here's a picture

I would recommend trying

earlycj5.com

There are people there who specialize in the older CJ's like your CJ3.

what about using a YJ switch ? get an after market dash mount one. I'm sure cole hersee makes something that would work

I don't think he ment a CJ3 but a 3-wire CJ wiper.

I also think it would be easiest to find a YJ switch to control it. COnverting a 3 wire to a 4 or 5 wire is tricky because the whole wiring plan is different inside.

Is the YJ still on the dash or is it on the steering colume. That could be a problem.

I'll have to see if I can just swap out the motors. It's not so much of an issue that I want to put too much cash into it.

the yj motor might have an intermitent sector, i'd really look for a yj switch or again go try cole hersee, they make bomb proof stuff.... i swear by them. all you have to do is tell them what you need, compare it to a yj operations and they can tell you what to use.....its not to diff bro. good luck
