windshield hold down knobs

Looked but I can not find the thread size for the knobs that screw into the dash that keep the windshield at the correct angle. 1983 CJ5 Thanks in advance. I don't have any and need to drill and tap new holes.

If I remember correctly, they are 3/8-16. I have a couple of bolts with washers on them in mine. Threw the knobs away years ago.

Not to drag up an old thread, but has anyone ever welded a nut with an integrated washer to the back of their dash for the hold down? I'm in the unique place of having a 75 CJ5 dash and a CJ7 tub. It looks like somebody had a later model windshield on it. But I got it sans the windshield.

i put nutserts in my `glass tub. Mine had loose bolts holding it when I bought it.

I used Weld Nuts with the offset base and pilot, just like OEM Jeep used. They are easy to install with a portable spot welder or TIG.

^^^^ x2 what Keith said. I used those a lot on my YJ tub and they are quick and easy to weld in place.
