will it fit in my garage?

I am building my 82 cj5 and I am not decided on how big I want to go. I was hoping for 35's 4"suspension lift 2" body lift. The determining factor is my 7' garage door. I have done the math and it will be close. Does anyone with a similar setup have some advise?

I have a CJ 7 with 35's but no body lift. I also have a seven foot door opening. With the soft top on it clears by about 3 inches. Without the top I don't have to cringe every time I pull the Jeep in the shop.

Mine slightly rubs as I drive it in with the soft top on.
With no top, a couple inches clear of the roll bar.
5" springs, 1 " of body lift, 36" swampers

...here's a tip , I adjust the garage door opener to pull the door up as far as possible so that it's fully retracted and the garage door trim is the lowest point

You'll be close, but will probably make it. I have a 7-foot garage door. My CJ has 35" BFG's, 4" ProComp suspension lift, 2-1/2" body lift, fiberglass body. I don't have a hardtop for the Jeep, and normally run a Bestop SuperTop. When I go in and out of my garage, the highest point on my top BARELY scrapes the rubber seal at the top of the door header. IOW, I am right at the limit. If I had 36" tires, I'd have to air them down to get into the garage.

Everybody I have read about in this forum who had a 2" body lift said they wish they had stuck with 1". I just wanted to point that out.

I agree with this. I wouldn't recommend anything over a 1" body lift. Just a personal preference of course but anything over that makes me feel less stable than I already do.

Just lay your windshield down and put your roll bar on last and you will have no problem's.
I have a 77 CJ-5 with a 4" lift, 2" shackles with 33" tires, and it makes it in and out of my 7" garage door with no problem. You could also drop your tire pressure if you just needed a little more room?

i have a soa with 1/2" lift shackles and 35's and mine misses by 2 inches. i'd skip the 2"BL, I had one and removed it, didn't look good.
