Who got the best bargain?

Howdy all, my nephew just bought a kaiser jeep with a rust free frame for 1000 bucks and it got me wondering, who here got the best deal for their jeep? I bought mine for 3000 and it wasn't even running, i would post pics but don't have a camera anymore lol. Anywho, thought it would be neat if you post a pic and condition of your jeep as well as price and see who got the best bargain.

sorry if its a repost, searched but didn't find anything

Is it a "deal" if you have to drop $4K to get it on the road?

"Deal" is relative.
Paved roads are just for getting you to the starting point!

if you are happy with your, new to you jeep, then you got a good deal.

I have gotten some of those good deals on things in the past, then before I was finished, I wish I had never seen the project.

I just drive and enjoy my old jeep and not worry about the $1000's of dollars I have spent on it over the years.

an old jeep is just like having a girl friend that lives out in the garage, no matter what she does or wants, you find a way to get it for her.

Paid 5K for mine about a year ago in San Antonio TX. Probably got ripped off, but I love the damn thing. It's worth way more to me than the 5K. It's got rusty floor pans and leaks from every place possible (working on that this weekend). I have to keep 2 drip pans under it all the time. The paint sucks! And the engine is weak as cat piss (78 304 150HP). Of course I have huge plans to fix it up that will probably never happen, but it is a fun hobby and I wouldn't trade it for a brand new Corvette. Picking up a 360 next week! I'm like a kid at Christmas. Here are some pics.

74 year old guy wanted it off his property. 250 miles away from my house he was selling the ranch. I would say about 100$ in fuel 50$ to get a trailer brake controller and 7 pin plug, oh yea a 60$ power steering bump after i ruined it in my truck from backing up with a 6k lb trailer and full lock over a curb . 210$ total for a seized cj7 with hard top and doors + soft top and doors.

One thing I've learned in the last 40 years of doing this,

The more you pay in the beginning, the less you pay later on, and you save your sanity on problems you don't know how to fix!

Best deal is realive to when you got it. Bought my first '79 CJ with a 304 and 30k miles in '84 for $1700. Bought an '85 Larado in '90 for $3000 dumped over $5k into it and watched it rot in front of my eyes and after swapping the high dollar parts, sold it for a large bottle of Jaeger 9 years ago. My current '85 CJ had 75k; no rust (never driven in the winter and most of the miles were put on behind a motorhome) and I paid $3500. It runs better than ever; thanks to the guy posting above me it has all my Larado parts and I wouldn't part with it for a small fortune.

My CJ was given to me(yes FREE) by the original owner. The catch? He rolled it pretty hard. Took quite a bit of work to get it back together...

74 CJ5 - 304 - 2.5" Rancho suspension lift.

Came home on a trailer. Running two hours later. Drivable the next day. Been steadily improving it ever since.

$65 to xfer the title from my dad to me. Technically it was to be a gift to my daughter, who now wants a car with AC. Sheesh, kids these days. I drove it all over Texas when I was a teen with a crappy radio and damn happy that I had it. She said that she will drive it once I get it fixed up though.
