Where to buy AMC 20 axle truss?

Does anyone have any idea where I can purchase a truss to use on my AMC 20? I did a search, but this far I was unable to locate one that is pre-made. Or, if some of the fab type would like to do it, I'd be happy to pay you to make me one. Let me know guys, seems like this void in the market would be filled, but I suppose not.

Really? I find that a little strange for some reason. You can just weld up the axle tube plugs and all that good stuff, or you should look in to upgrading to a dana 44.

I have never seen one that was not homemade. It may be out there but I think it would still need to welded into place. Try a local welding shop after you find a design that you like.

BESRK did this one for me.

He's about 5 1/2 hours from you in Newport News, VA.

I know this is an old thread, but do you have any other pics of this? How has it worked for you? It looks as though it's only welded to the center section on top and is made from 1" square tube. Can you give a few details?

I've been researching this a bit too Renegade82. Missouri Offroad Outfitters made one that was bolt on with a new cover as part of the system that looked pretty good. Unfortunately they are out of business. Given the quality of work that Besrk produces (I have front & rear bumpers from him) I'll be the ones he produces are pretty good.

Here's a DIY kit from Blue Torch, it's the only one I've ever seen available "off the shelf"
http://www.bluetorchfab.com/Product/...ss-System.aspx

I don't know anyone who has one installed so I can't speak for strength or ease of install.

I've been looking too. The BTF is really the only "off the shelf" kit I've seen and I thought is was a bit pricey. IIRC con-fer used to make one back in the '80's; I've been trying to find a used one, but no luck so far.

This was Eddie's (BESRK) prototype. I think he still makes a truss but it's a completely different design.

You can PM him and see.

My current AMC 20 Truss is CNC cut from 3/16" in 3 pieces. A front piece, rear piece and top strap. Has to be welded together. It ends just shy of the perch on either side so it works with Narrowtrac, Widetrac, SOA, or SUA.

Cost is $100 shipped..

I remember that ConFerr kit, wish I would have gotten one while they were still available. Wonder if we could talk them into cranking out a few? Or maybe there was a problem with them. I have seen some really clean, and some really ugly, weld on trusses, but I was hoping for a bolt on solution.

Are there any interference issues with them on a stock suspension? I have the 20gal plastic OEM tank and skid, if that makes a difference.
