a "whats it worth" thread (for a project)
I have seen this CJ7 sitting in a field for about 6 years now, so I finally stop to see if they want to sell it. I was asked to contact his Ex wife because he wouldnt mind it gone...
She said make her an offer: I dont knwo what to make My guess is $250-300 The bad: Sitting for 9 years in weeds Body is Shot and not salvageable tires shot and off the beads Motor condition unknown mouse eaten most everywhere Hard top cracked smashed in RR quarter The good: 258 is complete, and MIGHT run T-5 I believe D300 (maybe but might be the junk quadratrac) I couldnt get close enough because of bees and picker bushes to tell Hard top liftgate is solid factory side steps Fully loaded, with padded dash, clock etc. Frame appears to be remarkably solid, I could not find any punky spots in the usual places (i could not get to others due to pickers) Factory Swing Away Tailgate solid Fenders looked solid grill solid, with some rust If I got this I would sell off what stuff I wouldnt need IE hard top and doors probably then Put my CJ2A body on the CJ frame, do SOA and make a decent wheeler out of it. No Idea what to offer this lady, but she is a realtor and already playing the 'someone else is interested' game. It is obvious no one had looked at it in years, even the weeds were not moved. If I cant get it low its not worth it to me, it was pretty ragged looking.

Then
If she does not agree then tell her how about $100.00 and I will kick your ex-husbands a$$.
That usually works. She will probably give you the jeep and pay you $100.00 ![]()

I left a message saying 250-300, Maybe she will bite, I told her even if she does have another offer thats about the highest I would go as the other guy would be insane to pay more, it does have some harder to find parts in good shape, but to get them you have to take the whole thing... and the rest is good for scrap (which is what I will do with the Tub to get my $$ back lol...

How's the body look ?
Does the engine turn over ? Is the frame still attached to the body or just rust ? Look this stuff and more over before offering any thing.

Actually I do believe that was in the first post about the body Except for the engine turning over, I didnt have a battery or tools. I told her I would give her 250-300 without knowing on the motor, we keep playing phone tag The body (tub) is shot and falling off, the front clip and tailgate are good... Possibly a quadratrac, the rear axle looked like it may have been offset, it was a fully loaded Laredo package though which is something I did not put in there. Frame appeared to be good where I could get to it, very solid, but picker bushes under kept me from getting under it, and wasps kept me from getting in it.

Holy old post...
I did not buy this jeep. The lady thought it was gold when in reality there wasn't a lot I could salvage. . Instead I did more work to my CJ2A and recently bought a 1929 Model A to work on here this fall. The house it was at recently went up for sale, and I don't see it there anymore. My guess is her ex husband scrapped it on her as he wanted it off his property.
