i think that number is backward. i get vehicles (including jeeps) for whatever and then i see what others are paying and i cannot believe what they cost elsewhere.

I like that Texas math. Mainly because it's so true.

Yep, i was just thinking 4500 would be cheap for that jeep here. I got a 84 last month with zero rust for $3000 and all my hardcore jeep friends about made a porn scene on it

Texas Jeep pricing is whacked. There's a kinda beat- up mid-period CJ-6 with bad paint and a questionable ghetto blaster install by the side of the road with a "FER SALE" sign on it, and the guy's asking about $5k. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for it, but that's what he's asking.

Now, its going to cost a fair shake more to get "mom's little hay hauler" into good driving condition, but its not like they're getting less collectable. And I'll be able to do a lot of the collateral work myself and learn how to do it for a change instead of getting fleeced by questionable mechanics.

also agree...78 cj7 sold by a "redneck with a welder" that had wavy lines in the body due to poor tack welds, smoked on start up when it was already warm (which i asked him to have it cold for me), and had some other rust and body issues and he wanted $6500!

The floor pans have been patched so I know that there were problems at some point. There aren't any doors or a top. I'll check out the roll bar attachments.
How do you know that the floors have been patched? Did he tell you are did you notice? How well were they patched?

I have already driven it and crawled around it. The drivers side was obviously patched. It was a solid job, just obvious from the welds.
