D44's were used from '70-'75, '86 CJ7's and '97-'02 TJ's.

The AMC 20 was used from '76-'86.

D30's were used on the front from '72-'86

A D20 is a transfer case that was used from '72-'79

The Model 300 was used form '80-'86

If you have discs on the front the '77-'78 used the six bolt caliper plate.

'78-'86 used 2 bolt caliper plate.

it was a 79!

the jeep is now in eight pieces and in the scrap metal pile at the recyclers here. a 258 block with a hole in it, a 79 rusted out frame, and a completely gutted tub that had some serious rust issues got me $63.47 in scrap. cutting a frame with a sawzall isnt fun and you will go through a few blades.

Sounds like you need a torch Rusty. So you just kept the axles, trany and transfer case?

Maybe im reading your post wrong, its a little confusing but..

The amc model 20 was used up untill early 1986. im not sure when it was introduced. there were two versions, narrow trac was the earlier version and wide trac was the later. i believe they made the transition around 1980.
The dana 44 was only offered in late 1986 in cj7's. and in the earlier 1970-75 cj5's (narrow trac)
I believe that the 6 bolt caliper plate was used until atleast 1978 as well as the 6 bolt hubs used until 1981
