I think it's a beautiful Jeep. And when someone gets as excited as I think you are about something, they should go for it. If it's worth it to you, then it's worth it... period!

Great looking Jeep. I think if you can get it for under $10,000, do it.

very nice looking Jeep..

remember about the hidden rust on those models..

under the roll bar mounts is always a bad place
the carpet can cover a lot..
9k is the high side for me.. more like 7k
in todays economy and for what you can buy a later model for...

I feel qualified to answer your question as I have an 85 CJ7 Laredo. I am the third owner, the previous owner having it for twenty three years. Let me tell you how bad azz mine is. The door key fits the door, glove box lock, the console lock, and the back hatch. It is that clean all around. The original paint is excellent inside (as are the seats), good under the hood and on the body (with the exception of the hood as primer is showing through). It has never been molested with mods. It is original. It came with a hard top/door set up, a bikini top, and a almost new BestTop Super Top and doors. Mine also has an automatic tranny and factory/dealer A/C and cruise control. The original carpets which look new I have removed. It is truly a rust free Texas Jeep.
Your Laredo ... doesn't have the full sticker package after repaint. Just Laredo on the hood. Also, a rare as hens teeth accessory included with the Laredo are rectangular driving lights on the front bumper.
Just so you know, the tow hitch is really not a tow package (I have that too). You do have a looks to be Tuffy security console, one of the best made, but it does not have the stereo lock up. Yours being in the dash is not as good. You also have a full roll cage instead of a roll bar and it looks nicely done 'cept it does not go down to the floor/frame at the front.
That is a very nice CJ7 Laredo with evident care put into it. The paint does wonders for it. However, I only paid $4,000.00 for mine. I think $9,000.00 is way too much. $6,000.00 tops. He might get more, probably will, but not from me. Good Jeeps, nice Jeeps, can be had for less. With patience. I had a pretty nice 83 CJ7 Laredo when I found my 85. Bought the 85 and later sold the 83 for what I bought it for.
But hey, if I was flush with money, I might buy what you want for the same coin. A word of advice. Drive it. A lot of Jeeps wander all over the road, more so if a lift was poorly selected or installed.
Best of luck to 'ya.

It's a pretty nice CJ.
It is over priced as mentioned.
Probably worth more like $7,000 - $7,500.
As far as the Laredo option goes, With the limited pics the Laredo items look original.
However, I have never seen an original Laredo with the 4C Ice Blue Metallic paint.
That was a Renegade color.
But I have learned that you could special order just about anything you wanted back then.
I would be a little leery about this one, with fresh paint & looks to be Hurculined.

Jeeps will only sell for what someone is willing to give for them. Here is my 85 Laredo that someone made two offers on. First offer was an even trade for a fully loaded 2007 JK Wrangler. Second offer was 25,000 cash. Of course I declined both offers. My Jeep is too much fun.

I looked at the jeep the first time it was posted online. I talked to the guy and he is pretty proud of it and wasn't willing to come down much then. Its been a few months now so you might be able to get a better deal.

even if it was originally a Laredo, I am O-U-T with the new, non-OE paint scheme.

he'd have been better of leaving the top the original color and skipping the cheap , non-original stickers.

those two things alone to me devalue the jeep out of his asking price.

thanks guys...i knew you could point out many things to think about...I already told him that for me two kinds of jeeps bring that high price..either an original top to bottom is great shape or one that has been totally restored top to bottom...this one seems to be a little of both which in my opinion affects the price. It's a little bit original but a little bit restored with non original paint..partial sticker...etc..things you guys pointed out..I have emailed him and I think he is a little proud as well..he won't even respond to my email talking about 9k...in this economy you'd think you would be open..anyways..there will always come another jeep around the corner

Nice looking CJ for sure. Sorry, can't help much with the price. The general opinion, seems to be $7000 to $9000. Given that, $8000 would be good. And Id check it with a fine tooth comb. What do most of the CJs look like in Tennessee. As good as this one appears to or a lot worse.
For me, a $9000 offer via E-mail wouldn't work. $9000, cash, in person, would.

Oily stated a full cage, I think it's just out of a 1987 to 1991or 2 wrangler.

Given this one

http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums...d.php?t=540213

I'd say your guy is way high. If that blue one was all original, sure, but T4, no A/C......

It is a VERY nice Jeep, but IMO not worth what he wants for it.
