I enjoy driving so I prefer a manual. I just feel like I'm playing a video game driving an automatic. I also like being able to control when I shift. I think if i was driving an old beater just to get from point a to b i would prefer auto.

I think another reason why is because i generally like to understand the way something I am using works. Auto trans confuse me.

Disregard everything i say

I have a dana 30 front axle and amc 20 rear if anyone is looking. Both are 3.54, drums, narrowtrack.

You don't need to downshift to use the "Jake" brake. I also float the gears but most people who drive a manual uses the clutch when they shift.

In a CJ everything should be "selectable" or manual. Except the steering of course.

For a commuter car, automatic with AC and nice stereo.
