What are my tire/rim options for a 76 CJ5

We want to put tires on our 76 CJ5 that are wider and/or bigger but Im not sure what sizes I can go without any mods. The Jeep is totally stock, no lifts, original rims ....Any suggestions and why?

Keep in mind we are just going for a beefy version of the original, no super mods, no serious rock crawlin' ambitions, no extreme mud puddlin'. We simply want a solid trail junkie for the Rocky mountains that can handle typical trails/moderate rocks/tippies and steeps. We just love keeping her old school (and, OK, we love the comments we get when shes out to play - no need to go messin' with her image!).

I think about a 9"x30" is as big as you can squeeze in there, and even that might result in a little rubbing.
