what motor to swap for a 4.2

I have an 86 cj7 with 43000 miles on it. It has a 4.2 in it. The other day it was ticking and it turns out it was low on oil. I mean low took 4 quarts. Anyways i think the motor is one barrowed time. It used 4 quarts of oil in 2700 miles. Anyways what motor options do i have for the thing? I would like fuel injection just because it is way easier for my wife to drive. Also if any of you live in upstate NY and want to help out with a swap sometime this winter let me know.

Any symptoms on the oil loss? Is it burning oil? is it just leaking it?

The ticking might have been the lifters staying down.

The obvious swap choice is an MPFI 4.0 liter from a Jeep XJ or YJ.

X2 on the OBDI 4.0l HO. It will boost your power considerably, is reliable and long lived and will cause you fewer headaches on the install.

It is also the ultimate deveopment of the 258ci, so it is more an ugrade than a swap.

However it has wiring to deal with, I suppose like all fuel injected engine swaps. It is also not a monster horsepower engine.

Note that the OBDI was from 91-95 in XJs.
