What front cage kit are you using with a YJ family bar?

Pretty much sums it up, what front cage kit are you running with a YJ family bar in your CJ7? CJ kit? YJ kit? Install it yourself? Pics would be great....

Interested in this too as I just put in the YJ family bar and plan on extending it to the front floor panel, putting in cross bars, and tying to the frame.

I have the full YJ family cage, got it for $150 from someone in town(pads and everything), but I dont have the front bars on because I dont really think they do anything. I think what they are looking for here is what front "kit" do you use, maybe something like this

Yea I got the family bar and YJ spreaders for $50 but fastening the spreaders to a CJ windshield is kind of pointless in my opinion plus I want to be able to drop the windshield and still have a cage. I've seen the Kentrol kit and like the way it sits close to the dash. I've also seen the Extreme kit linked above on eBay, they have a CJ style with an A hoop and the YJ style with the side bars and a windshield bar. Theres also the OR Fab kit that bolts to the dash which I'm not crazy about, I'd rather floor plates and possibly frame tie ins at some point. Just trying to see what people are actually using and what they think of it, would do different, etc....

I ended up buying the OR Fab front sport cage DIY add-on kit. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it, but it is now a "true" roll cage as it is not tied in to the frame. The kit just comes with the forward bars, a spreader bar, and 2 overhead bars. The kit ties in to the dash.

OR markets this as NOT A ROLLCAGE, but in all honesty, I feel a little safer with this thing on top of me. Definitely not as strong as a frame tied roll cage, but better then nothing I guess. I saw somewhere that there is a kit to tie this in to the frame. Basically, there is the same shaped bracket that mounts to the dash on the back side of the dash. Then there is some 1"x2" rectangular steel that goes down to the floor and ties in to the frame. If I cannot find it again, then I will fab up my own when I can get to it.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics.

Thats the "CJ sport cage", correct? OR Fab's YJ kit is bolt on I believe while the CJ is weld in? This is the route I'm going as the wheeling I do is seldom more than trail riding and the odd mud hole....definitely no rocks or sketchy ascents/descents. I figure it will be good for my intended use and like you mentioned, I may look into a way to extend it to the floor if my wheeling preferences change down the road.

CJ/YJ cage kit doesn't matter because AFAIK the B pillar hoop is the same on CJ Sport bars, YJ sport bars, and YJ Family bars.

However, the dash bars on the kits are likely to be different.
