Sorry brother, that happened to me this year. I have been under employed for a couple months, but another job close to my old paycheck finally came through. Hang tough and I will keep you in my prayers.

Got the tow bar done, except for the paint. I just need to find some easy to connect and disconnect 3/4" pins for it.

Thanks. After looking at one at HF, I just couldn't do it, even with the good reviews they get. I am nervous as hell when it comes to towing. I would rather the Jeep stay connected and send the truck into the ditch, than the bar fold up and it come loose. Killing myself is one thing, killing somebody else is another.

Wonder if these pins would be strong enough for the connection to the bumper?
3/4" grade 5.

i'm a fan of overkill. i'd be concerned about strength where it bends. maybe gusset or lay a flat piece of metal over the entire bar-- strength and storage area (lol).

I had some concern there also. I thought about fish plating the joint at the "bend". They are 3/16" walled, and i made triple passes of 7018 weld at each of the bends.

The two center pieces should also help keep it from bending.

I would say so. I used 1" gr5 pins and could easily cut, grind and drill them to the right size. I used 1/2" gr8 bolts for the other side of the adapter. I went with 1" due to the shackle mounts being 1".

For whatever reason the red popped out in the picture, they are not that red in person, more like jerry can red.

Wheeled it pretty hard today. Gave the suspension and lockers a good workout. Ended up snapping a drivers side U-joint in the axle in the rock garden on one trail.
