Drove it to work, nice day. Layed around looking for the oil leak, it's the gasket on the back plate on the D300. What bits fall out when I take that off I wonder? Also grabbed the tow hooks on the front bumper and gave the whole thing the shake down. Found my shackles loose as a goose. All the nuts were pretty much finger tight, don't know how that happened. Time for nyloc nuts me thinks. Tomorrow I'll get the torque wench onto them.

A bearing and a few shims. Replace the shims with new if u can. Use gasket cinch or high tac low volume sticky stuff. The shims provide preload. If they have 1 scrap of dirt, dust, scratch etc they leak.... Good luck

Gotta love Florida. No inspections. If the police see an infraction, ie. your exhaust is smoking, or something doesn't work like your lights, you'll get pulled and get a ticket to have it fixed and go in for a visual inspection, but there are no annual inspections.

No inspections for anything before 95 in NC either. They didn't even do a VIN inspection because my CJ was so old. I had it titled and tagged while it was still a pile of parts in my garage.

Today I stared at pictures of my CJ and started planning a build for a high pinion D44, passenger side drop, locker, gears, and high steer.

Did the F250 shock tower swap and installed new rancho shocks. Can't wait to try out all the increased travel.

Played around behind the dash, speakers kept going out. Found out I have an original casette/radio unit and speakers, for 30 years old just having to tighten up a few plugs... Not bad. Anyone have any suggestions on a good set of speakers? Looking to wire in a pair of wheel well speakers and maybe another pair onto the roll bar.

I just bought a set of Bose outdoor speakers at Costco last month. Can't wait to get them installed on the fender wells this next week when I have the time to make a bracket.
