Got new heater core and installed it in the heater box, which I put foam around the seam to help seal it up. I'll finish it up tomorrow.

Pressure washed the CJ, removed the front flairs and drew out where to cut the fenders for more clearance.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match!

Wheel, Wrench, Repeat.

Got the rear end cover off.. Who knows how long the oils been in there. Everything seems to look as it should.

I'm a novice, see anything wrong in there? Should I RTV in addition to a new gasket?

Looks fine tome, wipe away any sludge, give it a spray with a bit of brake cleaner, call it good. Yes to RTV - thin spread on both the diff housing and the gasket to cover surface. MAKE SURE THE SURFACES HAVE NO OIL.... or rtv wont do its job...

Make them finger tight plus 1/2 turn... wait 30 mins, tighten to spec which is 20ft lbs....wait another 30 mins and add oil till it starts leaving the fill hole...

Thanks

Also, where's the ring gear stamp? I see nothing.. Maybe I just need to wipe some of the cramp off first.

Looked at the pile of bearings, races, seals, and u-joints on the work bench. Thought about tearing my front axle apart to replace everything.
Decided to save it for another day.
Drank a beer and took a nap instead.
