I took the runk front bumper of my buddys jeep(that he took off of my old jeep), and put it on my new jeep. I would have pt the winch on too, but the last few times he used it it wasnt bolted up right and he got a wire loose in the electrics somewhere in the box. So Ill take it apart and clean it up before I put it back on. I was eyeballing a huge peice of channel at the scrap yard for a new mounting plate so I may wait and use that too.

Anyway now I have a solid front with pull points and a solid rear that I built a couple weeks ago. What was on it when I bought it kinda sucked flimsy tube rear with factory hitch and up front was a stock one with a brush guard welded to it.

My old 84 looks so pathetic now. No bumper, tiny tires, no fenders to clear the tiny tires, and stock springs.

Went for one final ride to pick up a few things, to the carwash to hose off the underneath, then went home and started tearing it apart.
I miss it already.

Took it out for a spin today around town. Ran it out of gas. D'oh!!! Guess I should replace that faulty sending unit. When finally got it home, wired up the rebuilt old Warn winch I fixed up over the winter.

Got the front of the engine torn down further and also got the passenger side wheel well notch 80% complete.

If I have time to work on it tomorrow I'll be finishing up the body work then prepping for bed coating

Drove it to show it

Went to my brothers house, so that his neighbor could check it out. He seemed interested, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yup!

>>> HERE <<< is his poor specifications! but...very reliable...

Lot of them are still running (very common in France but mostly supercharged : ~90 HP (not the case of the CJ7) )... with extra high mileage = ~500000mi with very low maintenance&replacement. Except the oil pump axle : this is his weakness but it cost less than 10$ and 10 minutes of work for a newbie. It must be replaced every 100000mi usualy done with the timing belt

BTW,
>>> HERE <<< some information about vintage worldwide JEEP models & engine equiped

Gilles

Turned this thing into its cleaner twin, while at work. Tomorrow do the same to the driver side manifold.
I did the inside almost as good, thanks for the idea of slotting an aluminum rod to hold sand paper, works very well, and used a long nylon rod (length of manifold plus drill chuck) to get the harder to reach spots inside.

Sent using a rotary phone while driving a Jeep with a car-bo-rator.

again

for me, today, the right word where: what have you made with or for your CJ today?
Just 700 km in the day to search 2 seats, a rear bank and 2 interior panel in Laredo style; that has cost to me 200 euros: hip hip hip!!!!!
Sure, the upholstery are a little bit tired, but the basis is in good condition;
it need to me now just a dash pad in good condition and 2 sun visors and I can made a perfect original interior
YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
On the other hand, now, is my mechanic in good condition also, while 700 km (450 miles), that is a long way, without disturb

Well my dad and I went to pull a part today to get parts for his j10 and found an old dj. Stole the grille off it! Gonna clean it up, paint it and hang it on the wall.

Installed my new windshield wiper fluid and antifreeze overflow reservoir this evening. Other than that, just stared at her daydreaming about the warm sunny weather.

Got my new Bestop Super top delivered on Friday while I was at work. Got home Saturday morning and pulled everything out of the box to let the vinyl pieces warm up in the sun and discovered I was missing one small item. The top part of the soft top was missing out of the box. Unbelievable!

I have a voice mail and e-mail in to customer support. Hopefully get it resolved tomorrow. What a let down.
