Loaded the pregnant wife and my black lab and took a hour stroll down the road. Will say I've never heard so many things sounding like they are going wrong LOL. But it was fun. Need to see if that's a wheel bearing going out or not.

New rear driveshaft u-joints, rad cap, overflow tank and upgraded the brakes to a yj power system. Just a few things off of the list.

I totally get that... lol. When my wife is in my '80 I hear every little creak or tick... stuff I don't otherwise recognize... Just that she's always sleptical of it, so I wanna know everything's all good. I watch the gages too. Seems it's harder to drive perfectly straight in the center of the lane and it hits more bumps in the road when she's there... lol.

When its just me, I know I'll get home one way or the other, and don't worry... but don't like the idea of a roadside repair with a passenger who doesn't appreciate my Jeep as much as I do.

They always seem to like them on nice days don't they?

Yesterday I took my 7 for its first highway blast since installing 2.5" rancho springs. Bit of minor vibration, not really concerned about that yet though.

Gunna look into wedging my front axle though. Steerings not trying to stay straight. But hey that IS a CJ thing.

Balanced the air pressure in the tires, (FR 16, RR 17, LR <5, FL 27) all to 32 psi. Picked up me little brother, filled the tank with fuel and hit the highway, first time on the highway for any time. Ran a hour and a half at 65 - 75, everything worked great, stopped for a bit and then hit the highway back again running 65 - 75 (ok 80), ran a bit warmer but I am happy! All that elbow grease is finally paying off,,,

Gave her a good greasing.

Still haven't figured a way to to the upper U-joint on the front driveshaft without completely removing it though.

Any body with Quadra-trac figure any way to get to it? May have to replace it with one that has the nipple on the cap.

Going to be swapping the fuel pump and pray she fires up later. Then I'll help my Dad sandblast the frame on his CJ7 then we'll sandblast my tub. And of course we'll throw on primer at the minimum since everything will be bare metal

Yesterday I sanded and cleaned my valve covers and oil pan. Then I primed them.

I removed the fenders, cleaned and painted them. I rerouted (organized) the wiring in the engine bay. I removed the windshield frame and painted it as well.
