Nice tunnel and York.

Fabbed the new door lock and release rods for the driver's door and installed the used inside release handle I got on the bag. I went to Home Depot and got the 4X6 that will be the anchors for my outside rotisserie, drilled a 2 inch hole in one and planted it. It will be about 10 days til I get back to it so it should be set.

Cody pulled the column apart to replace the sector and rack and then decided to repalce the turn signal switch while he was at it, but he had to order it over night. He also started his KC light install.

finished my custom rear tube flairs (5" ) hoping to get them on tomorrow.... common dry faster paint. I also have to cut some sheet metal to get them on lol the bottom of them is going to be even with the bottom of the rear fender well and will open it up from the furthest forward point to the rearmost corner (hoping it'll be far enough back to cover some stretch later) I will post up pictures as soon as I get them on. I also finally hooked my backup lights to the reverse switch (3 years later) because I got tired of flipping the toggle switch.

Ok, now for the second promised update for this weekend.

This is how the Jeep starter this weekend.

We ended up taking more parts off the Jeep, notably the left front fender, but also the starter, and Distributor. We then squirted up the engine with degreaser and went at it with tooth brushes.

It was then rolled (yes it actually moved after 6 six weeks of sitting) out into the driveway an the pressure washer was taken to it.

Next step was to let it dry. While it was drying we removed the valve cover and got ride of all the sealer, Thomas started digging out the mud that was in the shock towers.

Next step was to wrap up the Jeep so we did not get overspray all over it. We were not able to put tarps over the axles and springs as I wanted to spray up the oil pan also. We will have to come back and rape up the engine and respray the axles springs, motor mounts black.

Now a several thin coats of a high temperature primer.

First coat of AMC Metallic blue

And this is what it looks like after several coats of the blue and then two coats of clear. There is just a LITTLE bit of primer overspray on the axles, springs, frame and engine mounts. Next weekend after the engine paint has dried I will rape the engine and spray up all of those with some gloss black.
