Installed the Tuffy console I got off of Craigslist for $50.00. In the morning I'll finish installing the factory under dash courtesy lights I got on Ebay for $16.50. The lights plugged into the factory light switch !!!!

Fabricated and installed some flat, stainless brackets to replace the old, worn-out windshield latches.

Mounted a new HiLift Extreme on the front bumper. (Not too crazy about the location but it won't go anywhere else!)

Sold her

Bought her a year ago for $6500. Put $4000 in her and she sold for $15,700. Not bad to get money back like that, sure it won't happen again, but man am I gonna miss her. Right before she sold she didn't have a single thing wrong...except needed one new headlight bulb, and a few other small things but you know what I mean.

Here are some parting picks

Thanks guys!!! That means a lot to me when I hear someone say how much they like my jeep. For 7 years I worked on this, and for 7 years I drooled over others that had drivable jeeps. Now I still geek-out over other jeeps but it makes me feel good that someone is totally geeking-out over mine. Lol thanks guys! I love this thing and I will drive it everyday unless I have to drive over 50mph. Lol

Well, I could not leave the skid plate looking like this,

so into the sand blaster,

and then a little powder coat.

Put the transfer case and skid plate back up under the Jeep.

And it looks pretty good.

Oh, wait a minute, made a mistake; I forgot to insert the little metal plate that goes between the transmission mount and the skid plate.

I am really beginning to hate Jeep aftermarket manufactures. Their parts just do not compare to OEM parts. The holes in the new transmission mount are off by just a little bit. So in order to start the bolts again after removing them to put the plate in, I had to remove all the bolts holding the skid plate in place to get the bolt holes for the transmission mount to line up again.

Well it might all have to come back down again, because I'm not sure I put the right gear oil in the transfercase and transmission. Any input would be appreciated. See this link

Not bad, I actually started to put parts back on. I had some friends over to help out. We call ourselves the car nuts.

We get together on Saturday mornings to socialize in the winter, and work on “small projects” see some of our other small projects on my web site.

So I told you that to show you this. I’m feeling good about starting in the right direction by putting the skid plate on, crawed out from under the jeep and found this.

Well actually that was by design, the engine block neededs to be painted. More about that later, other things also came flying of the Jeep this weekend.

Too bad to see you sell that one... nice CJ. I hope someone will appreciate it, and I hope you have another or another project coming... sweet ride.

On a side note, I am relatively new at CJs (had mine 8 months) though I read all I can, but had not seen the hood struts before... think I might like them.

Converted the YJ top hatch to work on my CJ. No more crawling inside to open the tailgate to get the back open! Used 2"X 1/16 steel plate and a couple of hasps so it's not pretty, but it does work well!

Actually took the car cover off and took it out of the garage and drove it around for a couple of hours. Stopped by the local Winery and picked up a half dozen bottles of red wine but wound up staying a little longer as several Jeepers pulled in and started asking questions about my CJ.... man, I hate that!

Sandblasted a Dana 30 and Dana 44 I picked up out of a 86'. They have 3.31 gears, better then the 2.72 I have now along with the Amc 20.

Was hoping to blast some small parts too, but ran out of sand. Axles took 5 50lb bags....
