yesterday and today I changed out my tired old 81 258 stocker for a a fresh rebuilt 86 258 with a 4.0 head and Clifford intake with 4 barrel Holley. it also has a comp cam, Cloyles roller chain, and a Centerforce clutch. runs great but I still have a couple of minor issues to deal with. the photos were taken moments before first firing.

Nothing but looked at her sitting in the driveway for close to a year. Getting laid off will slow stuff down. Now making up a game plan to finish soon since I would say she had been 80% done on this stage for a while.

installed new rock rails

Installed new rock rails from whiteknuckle off road - very nice fit

became aqainted with the misaligned crossmember sydrome - and found some interesting bolts the PO used for the transfer case mount..... glad I found them and replaced them - that would have been a painful discovery down the road....

Finished tying up loose wires. Now my painless wiring harness (10110) install is complete.

Cleaned the DS hub and put on a new rotor. Need to get the 2 1/16" socket for the nuts. How do you bend that stupid washer?

Sold some jeep junk at a local Jeep swap and show at the Dodge dealer,
then used the money to buy my girlfriend dinner...after leaving dinner caught up with a
new Chevy 4 door diesel at a Stoplight on Main street,
My Tires were spinning and screaming while his big Turbo spooled up a Big WHISSSH...and
we were off - I beat him to the next light but he was comin on strong...Damn! those 6000# trucks can move.
I Win!...Awesome day.

I got my nutserts from ebay when I did my YJ roll bar. Search RIVNUTS and NUTSERTS -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-18-18-PLAT...item4aa87b5ca5

Semper.
