removed my non functioning Ramsey 8K lb winch..wires to the solenoids are corroded and solenoid cover is broken..found that the clutch and motor work..need new solenoids/cover and a new cable and I am good to go! pretty happy I don't need to buy a new winch.
Replaced a shot muffler with a new cheapie from Autozone. A few minutes with the sawzall to remove the old one, quick shot with a cutoff wheel to remove the remaining bits from the pipes, one false start at fitting the new muffler - outlet tube a bit too long, so back to the sawzall - and bob's yer uncle. Not really worth taking pictures. I was surprised at how easily the old stuff came apart. I was worried I'd be under there cutting and hacking and hammering for hours.
Yesterday was the big day!!! Going to test drive the beast after long long time. Double checked fluid levels, rechecked bolts were tightened and out the garage i went. Well that didn't last long! Rear end locked up!!! Ahhhh. The one thing that I was really worried about. I rebuild it myself first timer and obviously I didn't do something right! Pinion is loose now which i believe is why it's locked up. I felt "beaten" yesterday!
Installed new lights everywhere I could. Spent the rest of the day removing a rear bumper that someone welding for Armageddon (it was three pieces of I-beam welded to a four inch tube steel all welded to the frame). Oh and finally got it titled and registered in my name.
Parked it next to my new 2012 Sahara Tan JK Unlimited. The tan was only made for a month in 12. I saw it come off the truck. I said ill take it and I put it in our shop for the modifications. Now i've got 2 tan jeeps in front of the house.

moved the 1977 CJ7 out of the garage and moved the 1970 CJ5 into the garage to start working on the restoration process again.... sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.
Restoration = lots of $ & time thrown at the jeep. I know we all know this but it helps in the process to keep things in perspective.

What did you do to your CJ today?
I installed my Ron Francis Torque Converter Lock up Kit for the TH700R4 I shoehorned into my 1981 CJ7. The Ron Francis Wire Works Site gave me all of support I needed and even sent me a FREE part. I just received a Summit part B&M Speedometer Cable Adapter 1600115-00 that is needed to connect the Speed Generator to the TH700R4. It connected very easily and the Ron Francis Kit seems to to be made of very high quality parts. I wouldn't say this for just anyone because I'm an inspector of government automatic weapons. So.... I know a little about inspecting items like these. I also installed my shortened XJ CV driveshaft. It fit like a glove!! You just have to love it when things go as planned. Next I'll install my transmission cooler/lines and power steering lines. I should be able to drive my BEAST soon. I'll see you guys out there!!!
