Changed the oil, re-adjust the carb and then went for a drive with the top down.

I stole some replacement seats from my brother's friend who has some CJ stuff. Plan to install them tomorrow. Also made the decision to re-build the existing carbuerator rather than buy new just yet..

Cool thread, my wife isn't too impressed with my daily Jeep dealings and thoughts, hope you guys are!

Team rushed, nuttered, carb tuned, poked some holes through some rust (gonna take care of some of that tomorrow), burnt out in it for the first time(team rush and nuttered did something!)

Oh and then I broke a steering pump mounting bolt.

Found out that my timing chain must have slipped because it wont run below 24* BTDC. and found out that you can get shocked by the dizzy, even if the car is off.

Took off flywheel dust cover and refinished it. Going to enter my Jeep in another car show Monday.

Hooked up my little 4x6 trailer and took my sportster to the shop. Had both kids strapped into their car seats, both fell asleep with no doors and a magnaflow straight pipe!

Had to pull out the CJ to winch around another vehicle. It's still in paint prep mode.....

Drove it to the quickshop, and it wouldn't start again. Left it in the parking lot and walked the mile home. Will check it out in the am.... Damn...

Drove the wife around doing errands Hardtop on but no doors or rear hatch. On our way to the last stop when the engine sputters and dies going down a hill. Was able to coast it into an apartment complex where I spent around 30 mins tracing and repairing the fuel problem. It was the Howell fuel injection system had gotten clogged up. Cleaned up the bowls and jets with a piece of rag and a thermometer (only thing I had that was a small enough point) got it running! It also shot a flame ball out of the carb and burnt the hair off of my hand!! The last stop was the movies (On Stranger Tides), pull into a parking spot grabbed a backup shirt to put on and ate nachos with my hands reeking of gas. I LOVE MY CJ!!

Not actually today, but I put in a new (to me) windshield frame with lots of help from CJinPA.
Painted the windshield frame flat black. Used BBQ grill paint. It's all I had handy. Looks pretty good. It's not wrong to use BBQ paint on a CJ body part, is it?

Sounds like something I might have to try! Gotta get the bottom if mine welded up a little before I paying and install the glass.
