Today I installed hood pins for my fiberglass hood. PO installed the hood and it came with no provisions for a safety latch...I was not happy watching the hood bounce around with only the two side hangers and hated to cut holes in the hood, but function over form. Better safe than sorry right? Here's my quick fix...less than 20 bucks.

Well before I could post pics of my jeep to show what condition it was in when purchased, the battery took a crap, LOL. So I put in a red top Optima and changed the battery terminals to powder coated marine terminals.
Mounted up my new motor to the tranny.. Swapped out the old motor and dropped the new one in Sunday but ran out of daylight to get the trans and engine lined up. Had to do most of it by myself, but a friend helped me get the motor mount lined up
I stopped by the body shop and drooled over mine The paint job came out way past my expectations. I cant wait to get it home and get the trim back on it. Today was the first time that i have seen it since it was primered. He parked it out in front of the shop today to make some room for other prjojects. He said that he had 5 people stop and ask if it was for sale... Pretty Kicka$$ is you ask me.... Ill post pics when I get it back.
A good day at work never beats a day (or night)working on the Jeep...
Yesterday and today have been cold and wet outside, so the CJ is in the garage getting some love...finally convinced the old worn out, leaky, steering box to come out, the power steering lines would not budge however, so I ordered two new lines to put on with the new gear box as well as this beefy looking replacement bracket.
Rebuilt the T176 - New Parts: second gear, third gear, reverse slider, master rebuild kit.
It took a few weeks to get all the parts after teardown but I started Saturday and finished up this morning. Someday I will process all the photos and put together a teardown/rebuild article. It was not to hard and the pictures helped tremendously. Here are a few highlights from the rebuild. I will probably finish up the top cover today and go find some stainless steel bolts:
