Took the grill cover off and painted it, buttoned everything back up and now my Jeep starts, sputters and dies... go figure. I had to disconnect the battery cable completely to pull my winch cable through the grill cover to take it off. I put everything back the way it was but for some reason I am running into this issue now. I only saw grounds behind the lights, is the grill cover a source of ground as well? My Jeep was running perfectly before this and now the electric choke won't come on or anything. It starts cold and wobbles and sputters like mad at 900 and lower rpm, I give it a bit of gas and it chokes and wants to die. Before this it would kick up to 1800 rpm I would give it a blip and it would hit 1600 and the Electric Choke would take over and leave it off where it should idle for my Jeep which is about 1200-1300 range when warm. I cleaned the ground I removed for the winch and even completely took the winch out of the loop trying to eliminate that, ran the winch it ran fine and then when I finished pulling in the cable a buzzing noise started so I pulled the battery + cable and it stopped after I wiggled it. It's late and I just want to go to bed, I guess I'll figure it out tomorrow.... Here we go again.
Bored with nothing to do while I wait on the rest of my steering parts to arrive, I took a trip to the local pick and pull. $40 and two much needed seats for the Jeep from a Dodge cargo van. Nothing fancy, but lots of nice soft padding.

Replaced the rapidly deteriorating and damaged top with a Bestop Heritage 60th Anniversary Replacement Top. Expensive, but uses the original hardware and looks original. Went on easy except for one snap on the driver side door was factory installed backwards......@#%$#%%!!!!!!
Thanks for the comment on my photo Dave. Just an IPhone picture but I think that thin cloud helped to dampen the direct sunlight just that little bit. Today I buffed the billio's out of the 8. Came up pretty good I think. One casualty was the top bracket on the OEM antenna. Got caught up. THAT made me vomit a bit. Cable tie to the rescue Saving the world, one jeep at a time.
