Took the dash pad off, screwed it to a piece of wood to keep it straight and shelved it. No needs roasting that in the scorching West Australian sun all summer.

So how do you tell a crazed jeep fanatic?

Well look for the guy out in his driveway in the freezing cold cleaning the carpets in his Jeep. I have cleaned both the set of carpets that were in the Jeep and the set set of carpets that I picked up used.

I will install the best and then sell the other set.

They actually came out pretty good.

Finally got her all put back together after the axle swap, brakes together and adjusted. Then put the top and doors on and took a short drive around town to make sure all is well. I missed driving it.

Since we here in the sierra nevada mountains have YET to have a winter andsince it was in the high 60s yesterday, time to go for a trail ride out near pyramid Lake.

Waltzing up the upper waterfall on Steve's loop.

On a spur trail is a section of off camber slick rock. Had a dusting of ball-bearing like pebbles all over the rocks and just like ice, rig slid sideways. Major drop off. Once in the soft dirt, it got progressively worse. Every wheel movement pushed her closer to the edge. Lockers no help. Once secured with winch line from jeep (i took the pic-- once was ready to pull, everyone stepped back). Pyramid Lake, NV in distance. What saved the day? Hard pull uphill and put the Dana 300 into front only with the ARB and it clawed right out of the quicksand and onto the hardpan. whew!

We have been working on the inside and laid the cleaned carpets back in (I also washed the inside, powder coated the seat brackets, oh yes and the seats are over at the upholsterers, and I cleaned some rust up, full update to follow).

The carpet is just sitting there I need to get new Velcro.

Finally finished up my dual battery upgrade. Used 1 group 24 and 1 group 24R with 850 amps each with 1/0 welding cable connecting everything together including to the solinoid and starter and 1/0 dedicated ground to the starter. No more hard starts for me !!!!!!
