What color to paint my 304
I will be picking up my 304 block from the machine shop early next week. I have completed all the cleanup of the external engine parts and now am planning out what paint color to use on the motor.
I found a few shades of blue at Autozone…but not an exact match. I am not even sure if I want to stick with the original color. Does anyone have any suggestions of colors…or pics of V8 jeep motors painted up?
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the input...I ended up going with a Ford blue with Black accessories. Still waiting on the block to come back from the machine shop...but the heads are looking good.

Paint it Black, that way the oil won't show when it starts leaking again, it is a CJ

AMC Blue... But then, this is a 401...
Eastwood sells it in spray bomb, or just recently it is available catalyzed with hardner...

It is Eastwood's AMC Blue. Here's a link...

I bought it in spray cans, though.

That color looks sharp. I always thought MC blue was a little more "aqua-ish". I went with Pontiac blue because it was close and no AMC blue was available local. A finishing touch that nobody will ever see is pressing a paint (black) soaked piece of rubber over the c.i.d. casting on the block.
