i think adding 1 1/2" wheel spacers really helped mine - I no longer look like I'm bringing the mail! Looks better & handles better!

What he said^^ or a Monster energy drink sticker from the gas station. Or a big Budweiser sticker, the kind that screams, "HEY COPS, I'm driving around wasted!!!"

I agree build it like you want it, to hell with the popular kids. Think you need to decide what you are going to use it for & make the changes. The great thing about a Jeep it may change in the many years you own it.

If you want to look cool, TAKE THE TOP OFF.

Nothing better than a bikini top, it just shouts that creature comforts are for others, you are an outdoorsy kind of guy but appreciate your woman enough you will give her some shade, but not too much because you are COOOOOOOOOOOL.

Cj's look cool just the way they are, and they reflect the owers personality with what they do to them. Its your jeep, cool it up the way you want to.

Cool is a very interesting adjective. It is both self-defined and quantifiable (ask 1,000 people if Tina Fey is funny, you'll have stats to support that she is in fact funny) to some degree. Once you're in range, the rest is up to you.

I'll give you an example...

I think my Jeep is cool - far from stock, lifted the "right" amount, with the "right" amount of mods, etc, etc.):

I KNOW my neighbor's Jeep - bone stock, original slightly faded paint, 40,000 miles, rust-free, owned by the 75-year-old who bought it new 5 miles from where it sleeps at night:

That pic of mine was shot in his driveway. I had brought it over to show him (we'd talked Jeeps over the years... mostly me trying to buy his). He was so complimentary, so gracious in his comments - seemed genuinely interested, impressed... I just kept looking at his little CJ on those stamped steel wheels... saying "Yeah... thanks... uh huh... hmmm... " His Jeep just stirs something in me.

As much as I love my CJ, there is no question that little red CJ is "cooler"... it just is. Well, to me... and that's what makes "cool" cool.

CJ's do not have to try to be cool, it is inherent. Leave the other stuff to the YJ's, TJ's and JK's. This is the mistake I made when I started looking at CJ's. I looked at all the "cool' accessories and after spending tons of money I have now decided I want the stock look. BTW, I consider 2.5"-4" of lift stock.

If you want coolest of the cool, imo, go with a tan Laredo interior, decals and whatever color black they used, original chrome wheels, 2.5" lift and a set of 31" BFG A/T's. BAM!!!

''Gee'' Manhattan, Got the impression you were a little jealous in the winch thread, but man, now I know how you really feel.
That copy-cat red just does it for you. So, I figured I give you another shot, I know it looks a little orange in this shot, but thats just the magic of copy-cat red in the sun.
