What is the BEST one peice axle for the AMC 20

What is everyone's thoughts on the best one peice axle for the AMC 20 today? I have heard that Moser Axles have gone down hill in recent year's. I am going to be buying new axles in the next month and am wondering what is the strongest axle out there.

Moser is still the gold standard that all others are measured by.

I've never heard anything bad about them.....drag racers still run them in droves.

If I needed some new axles, Moser would be my first call.

Mosers seems to work great, abundancy of parts availability and do not look to be going under anytime soon. Superior is also a good choice.

Moser. They've been manufacturing custom axles for years.

If you are running a T150 with no more than a 2.5" lift, going to 1-piece axles make sense. If your big picture is a 4" lift, T18 transmission, Detroit, 1-piece shafts, new R&P, and replacement spring perches to rotate the axle, your cumlative cost will exceed buying a whole new axle.

That being said, if you are doing all the above incrementally over time then fixing the AMC20 may make sense so you don't have to spring for a new axle all at once.

I first went to LockRight, then went to 4.10's with Detroit, then Warn Full Floater, then new spring perches and welded tubes - but did this over 12 years. I'm over the cost of an all new axle, but it was spread over 12 years so the cost was spread out.

When I gave the 2-piece shafts the heave-ho, Moser seemed to be the shafts of choice. My friend went with them and I went with Warn FF. His Moser shafts have been flawless and are turned by a fuel injected 360 and T-176. I am not aware of the "latest" in 1-piece shaft opinions.
What he said If you plan on wheeling it hard or just mild with big tires an amc 20 will work but its just not worth the money.

It sounds like I have gotten some wrong info on Moser axles quality going down hill. My CJ 5 is running a 304, T18 and 3.54 Gears. I am going to leave the R&P alone and install an OX locker and one peice axles, which sounds like they will be Moser. I have a light left foot, and usually don't break things very often. Thanks a lot for all the great info.

I have Superior Gear and Axle one piece axles in my 304 Qtrack CJ7, they have been just great, Moser is also a great choice with excellent CS. Just find the best price you can. I went with Superior because I found a set on EBAY a guy had purchased by mistake and just had them laying around in the garage. I stole those axles.
