Wanting to put front disc brakes.
I am wanting to put front disc brakes on my 77 jeep. I would like to be able to just part it out. Do you know what kind of brakes they use.

You can do this one (see link). I am in the process of doing this to my '73. I bought all the Chevy stuff at a junk yard (even the calipers for cores).

If it's a '77 I thought you would be able to get off the shelf stuff because front disc brakes were available on the '77's. I think you can order a bunch of the parts from any number of Omix-Ada dealers or other suppliers.
eburg Edit: I just went on jcwhitney.com and they have spindles, rotors, dust sheilds, pads, master cylinders etc. You would need to find calipers, proportioning valves etc.

If you have knuckles that will support disc brakes, you just need the caliper holders, calipers, brake pads, and lines. It is a bolt on.
If you don't have the 2 holes necessary on your knuckles as I did, you have to get the correct knuckles. I just got a whole setup (axle) and took what i needed. It was a good time to put in new ball joints as well since it was all apart. cb |

It should have the drum brake knuckles which would mean you either use the six bolt set up (like the Chevy thing) or change the knuckles out to the two bolt set up. I thought it easier/cheaper to do the six bolt. My ball joints are good along with my hubs and bearings. I hate to take all that apart for no reason.
