Waggy Axle Backspacing????

What is the greatest amount of backspacing I can use to get the rims sucked into the fenderwells?

Considering that the axles are going to be left full width, I'd like to keep it as legal (ya right) as possible by using the right amount of backspacing.

Also, I'll be running high-steer arms.......will this affect backspacing?

I'd contact some steel rim manufacturers and look for something with a deep backspace.. maybe in the 5"-6" range? The deep backspace can interfere with high steer arms. There are arms made for running stock H1 Hummer rims that have a super deep backspace.. those should work for you.

Ya I've talked to one guy today who's running 15x8" rim with 4" backspacing on 35x12.5's who added a 1" spacer to his high-steer to make clearance for his tierod as it was too close to the springs (he also rubs on his tires on the springs so he had to adjust the stops).

Curious if I'll need to add a knuckle spacer and what backspacing/offset I'll need. All rims are so different unless I can get my hand on a few rims it being pissing in the wind trying to find the right rim.
