VIN tag and the bank
Why would a bank need a digital pic of the VIN tag?
I am currrently selling my CJ and the potential buyer is out of state, he is asking for the above. Just curious as to why the bank would need this?

to pull loan value / verify collateral
I "trust" my customer to read it, but not all do.

Yeah. I think I would appreciate a pic if I was buying something out of state.

When it comes to money, financial institutions, and bean counters - I wouldn't be surprised what they ask for. The good news is after they get their boxes checked, they're usually happy. I don't see that anyone could do any damage with a pic of the VIN number since they already have the VIN number. I agree with 'slacker', it doesn't seem too much to ask if one is buying a vehicle from out of state. Best of luck and
.
