value of a pair of dana 44's

Trying to get any input as to what you all thought a pair of dana 44 axles are worth out of a 77 J10 pickup. The front is a passenger side drop, both are complete open diffs, 3.73 gears, 6 lug, front has flat top knuckles, and automatic hubs.

Thanks

Is the rear offset also? And how wide do you want to go? Your stock CJ6 axles are around 50.5" wms and the J10 are going to around 64" or 65" IIRC.

Also curious about the automatic hubs. Are you saying they automatically lock and unlock? I've never heard of that on these axles, but they did come with drive flanges on full time 4x4 models (front hubs don't unlock).

They're pretty good axles if you want to go that wide, especially if you've got a D18 t-case with rear offset. If you don't want to go that wide, look for '79 and back wagoneer axles. They're about 5 inches narrower, but otherwise the same.

That depends on how much work it would take to make them work in a CJ. The closer they are to being able to bolt in, the more valuable they are. If you have to do all the same work as a set of Scout axles, they wouldn't be worth much..

Yes, you can put locking hubs on them.

Most sets of 44's I've seen go from about 200 and up, depending on what's in them. Since nothing is in these, and they will likely need to be totally rebuilt, I'd guess 200-250.

That is a good deal. They would take the same effort that a Wagoneer axle would take to install in your CJ6.

FYI, those aren't automatic locking hubs, they are full time drive flanges. It is a gear that locks the wheelbearing hub to the axleshaft 100% of the time. They are easily removed and swapped out for lockout hubs. Keep them for trail spares should you ever break a manual lockout.
