Ok mike. Thanks for all the help. I am going to unplug the EGR, and block the vaccume off. If that solves the stalling while braking, I will get back on here to let you know and sak for your wisom once again.

Mike. I went home at luch and looked at it. The EGR isnt even hooked up, but I could tell that at some point during me doing all this I have unhooked it. So I am going to look. I did notice there are 2 little plugs on the drivers side of the engine, on the block, towards the bottom. They have two vaccume lines that come up to around the carb. One of these plugs with the 2 prongs, is broken. What are these "plugs" called? Can these be purchased?

A photo would help, but they sound like a CTO valve that would shut off the vacuum on a cold engine.

So it would seem you have some open vacuum lines in there. That can be your trouble, open vacuum lines can lean things out. A close inspection is called for.

Even if the EGR is has no line connected to it don't you have to still take it off and block the inlet with a piece of old gasket or something? Just curious?

Only if it is leaking by being carboned up or rotted away. Otherwise it is just closed until it get a vacuum suck through the line.
