USA TOPS sewing again

Hello all,

for everyone that has patiently waited while i moved and built my shop i wanted to let you know I am ready to sew. I ordered a roll of saddle and a roll of black and it should be here the beginning of next week.

I apologize for the year long delay.

I have made a few minor changes but the top remains much the same. IF you are not familiar here are the original links.

I hope to add a clear enclosure to the full length top in the future. Something that is a one piece that zips in quick, and can be rolled up and put under the seat when not in use.

I would like to start on that this winter because the last softop i bought was too short and would not fit on my jeep.

Thanks again,
Jon

That is exciting! Will you be making a safari style top for just the 7? Would be nice to have the extra sun protection for the dogs in my 5. These are great looking tops.

I can make it for the 5 also, i have never made one so i would need to either trust my math or find a local jeep to test fit.

I think other than subtracting a few inches the rest will be the same.

Maybe you should go all out and make a complete top? Glad to see you in business!

Can you point us to the website? I want to see those pics of the CJ7 safari top, which would be awesome in the summer.

i like the safari top design, good materials that will last.

Well done on the website, it explains very clearly the challenges with getting a good fit.

I like the DIY hoops!!

I like the I'd be interested in a Safari top for a CJ5 also. But I'd like it to extend to be even with the very back of the jeep.

Glad to see you, back up and running, Jon! I have some other work to get done on my 5 but will be ordering a new bikini, in Blue, eventually. The black prototype is still alive and kicking, two years and two states, later. The Gulf coast winds, rain, and salt haven't made it flinch, nor has the Arizona sun.

I am glad to hear it is still holding up, That was the first top made for a cj5. maybe one day it will be a collector item.

finding the blue fabric is not easy. I made one for a man back east, he had the fabric and sent me the material and i stitched it for him.

Let me know when you are ready.

The website says, "At this time we are no longer making tops.. The website active for informational purposes. You can call or email for more information if needed. Thanks"

That's too bad because my top has been fantastic! Maybe it was too much of a labor of love.
