transmisson question

hello new here hope yall can help. i have a 77 cj5 304/3spd that is making a steady clunking noise in 2nd gear. it hasnt made any difference in the way it runs meaning no loss of power or slipping. it sounds like maybe one of the other gears is trying to engage at the same time. any ideas?

My guess would be a bad bearing or a broken tooth. Interal inspection may be the order.

when you pull the top cover look at the 2nd gear teeth on the counter gear and also look at the reverse idler gear down in the bottom..the t150 has a habit of grinding up the idler teeth.....

Pulled the top off and found two teeth broke off of 2nd gear. So the next question is how hard are they to rebuild? I rebuilt a np435 last year so I am hoping it will be about like that.
