Trans/Tcase build help...

So I have a T176 tranny & a D300, LoMax set.
I have the rebuild kits for both and need to rebuild them while I'm waiting on the Machinist to get my engine ready for pick up.

I have never rebuilt a transmission or T-case. where can I find the best instructions or walk-through. on these?
Or is there any one in the Grand Junction area who would be willing to assist?

Try a Haynes manual for 1980-86 CJ. My Haynes manual has a good rebuild section on my T150.

Jeep cj rebuilders manual by moses ludell for the dana 300 overhaul. But since your installing that lo max set I imagine you're gonna have to make endplay adjustments. It doesn't go into depth about the adjustments but really you're just adding shims or removing them to increase or decrease endplay ,respectively. But it's a very descent book and has a good specific sequence of steps for rebuilding the t18a,dana 300, dana 20. It also covers a dana 30 and amc 20 gear and locker install but it does'nt teach you insight into how to do a ring and pinion swap, it just gives the steps. But at any rate that book should be good for the dana 300 rebuild, there is a picture for every step. You're gonna need access to a press for bearing removal on the dana 300.

1984 jeep cj7, 258 I6, rebuilt T176,rebuilt Dana 300, amc 20 , dana 30, 4.10's Trac-lok in rear , 4.10's detroit soft locker in dana 30, 2.5 inch bds suspension lift, 1 inch polyurethan body mount lift. Line ex. weber carburetor. factory tach. factory clock ,oem replacement speedomter cluster, and oil pressure gauge, factory volt gauge.
