Tranny questions....help please....

I realize this may sound really simple, but not sure what to do. It's a 84 Scrambler, 4 speed, manual tranny, ...... where is the fluid fill port?????? The manual shows me the bolts to check the level of fluid underneath, but for the life of me, I can't find anywhere to add fluid. Does it go directly into the tranny housing or what...... any help is appreciated.

yep, should be a fill plug on the side of the tranny (might be a couple of plugs; take out the top one and put fluid in till it starts running out of the hole). If your just checking take the plug out and see if fluid starts to run out. If not add some till it does and replace the plug. Might as well go ahead and change it while your down there (drain plug is on bottom of tranny NOT the lower plug on the side). No telling how long it's been since it was changed.
