They are worn but they look okay. As long as you can't find any cracks.
If you are wondering if it will drive and shift like new then no. With that said, as long as your bearings are okay, you can probably put off a rebuild for a little while. Fill 'er up and go!

It looks a little rusty, meaning the bearings could also bo rusty. If you are buying it, it better be cheap! If your going to run it, you might put a magnet in it, fill it, run it, then change out the oil and see what magnet catches. It is definently broke in!

As far as the syncros & thrust washer go they wear by getting thinner so the only way to tell would be pull it apart and measure. However if you go that far might as well just replace them. I might be a little worried about the rusting on the gears having pitted and weakened the gear teeth. Hard to really tell without seeing it in person but this gear looks a little beaten up.

MOC,

Do you know any tool rental stores that carry the pull to remove the bearings on a T176. I can't find a pull around here nobody has one. I think its a Pronto with extensions, unless you have a better idea. I'm in Gibsland, La. so Shreveport stores are close enough.

Thanks.

Hard to tell without disassembling it but might be worth installing it and hoping for the best.

The thread is two years old. Someone bumped it for a completely different question instead of starting their own thread.

I was just about to go off on am I the only one that sees the worn sychronizer teeth and all the debris in it? to add fluid and "run it" as is would mess it up even more.....
