Well I have everything off and the timing chains got a little to much slack, any sure fired no fail methods to placing the gears and chain where when I drop the dizzy this thing might crank again?
Lots of builds out there I'm trying to reduce search headaches?

I would search a little. Lots of posts on timing chain replacement. Lots of little problems too. From oiling problems after replacement, warped covers, covers with dimples vs. no dimples, etc.

First off you will have to find top dead center on the number 1 cylinder. Your timing gears will have alignment marks on them a dot or circle to match up. Before you pull the distributor scribe an alignment mark and note where the button is pointing. You can use a screw driver to align the oil pump. You may or may not have to use a puller to remove the gears. Buy new gears and chain and lube them with motor oil. I lay mine out flat first ro get an idea of where the marks will be. If your jeep " jumped time" you could have some internal damage. The gears will have a keyway slot so you can't mess that up. Any maintenance manual Chilton's etc will usually have pictures and step by step instructions
