You can still go and adjust it right. If you pulled the drag link off or just unscrewed the drag link so you don't have to mess with the tie rod end part, then you can get an inch pound reading on the pitman. It would be best with no steering shaft attached too, but you could get close.

Then just tighten the adjuster plug in the steering shaft end and you should be good to go.
