Ticking from front axle

I just rebuilt my front axle, the NT dana 30 with 4.10's, lockright, all new seals and bearings. Now I have a ticking sound coming from front axle, it speeds up and slows down with the jeep, so it has to be something in the rotating assembly.
The ticking goes away as soon as any pressure is applied to the brake pedal, don't even have to apply enough pressure for the jeep to slow down to make the noise stop.
I reused the brake pads from before the rebuild, but they had a lot of life left on them, so I don't think it has to do with the pads themselves.
Any Ideas?

yes, forgot to mention that, 2WD, new mile marker supreme hubs unlocked, so axle shafts and drive shaft should not be turning...

Could be the disc brakes. Did you install the anti rattle clips?

if your talking about the little spring clips that go on top of the bar that holds the caliper on, then yes I did, are there other clips?

Might jack up the front end and wiggle/spin the wheels by hand. If you can make the noise that way you should be able to pinpoint the problem.

There are little spring steel clips (actually they're called anti-rattle springs) that keep the pads from rattling. I had a little problem with clicking from the front as you describe the first time I replaced the pads. Turns out that I had left the clips out.

Interesting, mine has large rod shaped spring clips going across the anchor plates from side to side to stop rattle.

I would be wanting to check those again if they are like mine, have had and seen them come unhooked or jammed during the install several times.
