are these both d30s?





these both seem to be dana 30 axels but i thought that dana 30 was only used in the front...

The rear looks to be a 44. There will be numbers on the axle housing that will tell you.

where at exactly can on the housing can i find what madel it is? im not seeing any numbers on it. will that tell me what gear ratio is in there?

This chart should help you. The model number is number 3 in the identifying picture. The ratio tag appears to be missing from the Dana 30 and the Dana 44. It would be attached with the two leftmost vertical bolts on each housing.
