Are these axles worth the money?

I have a 76 CJ7 with the narrow track axles, I currently have an AMC 20 and a Dana 30. Just want to get the wider axles.

It seems to be a decent deal concidering the upgrades. If you do much wheeling you'll still have the weak Dana 30 up front. That being said if you plan to be hard on them hold out for a set of Dana 44's out of a scout or waggy. They are wider than the wide trac but much stronger. If you mostly run up and down the road id say jump on them as long as the gearing won't be too low.

I just heard back from him and they are both lock rite lockers in the front and rear. At this point its little to no wheeling nad just pounding pavement/sand right now. I am really just trying to get away from the narrow tracks for fairly cheap.

You can pick up I unmodified set of wide trac fairly cheap. Look on the c'ville Craigslist I think there's a guy around Zion Crossroads with some

With the upgrades I'd say they're worth it. Regearing an axle will cost you most of what he wants for those. That said, what size tires are you running and do you need 4.11? If you just have a toy or have big tires I'd say jump on it. If you have a daily driver with 31's your engine will be screaming on the highway with those gears.

Still, very reasonable price given the upgrades.

Heck if that was closer I would buy them myself.

Kinda what I though too John.

What about just changing the backspacing with a different wheel or adding some small spacers? If you're not really wheeling, this might be a more reasonable option.

I mainly suggest it because it doesn't seem like it would be much of an upgrade except in width.

Lockers, one piece alxes, heim joints, 4.11's.......I'd say that's a HELL of an upgrade

Front Dana 30, Rear AMC 20 wide track out of 1982 CJ. Both equipped with lockers, 4:11 gears, 5 lug, stainless diff covers, new hubs, hiem joints on drag link, yukon flanged rear axle shafts. Ready to install!

It's even worth the freight charge to have those with all the addons.
