I've got a th400 mated to Dana 300 with the Novak adapter conversion going in a cj7. The problem I'm having is the cv style driveshaft rubs the corner of the trans pan and trans a little. Wondering what you guys have done to fix the problem if any I have read a little grinding. Just seeing what you can do I know there's something being it's a comin swap with the th400 thanks
I suggest you use a conventional front driveshaft. You don't need the CV joint (double Cardan joint) if you aren't driving in full-time anymore. The manual transmission CJs all have the conventional front driveshaft, IIRC.

I ve got the same setup (350-th400-d300) I ve had an aftermarket shaft made (stronger than the original) but wihtout the cv joint. Never had any problems.
I did think of that I would have to get one made or find one that would work. I've got a decent lift witch I thought the cv style would work a little better. I thought they recommended the cv style for that combo with a auto trans
