temp sensor question

ok i have been chasing a freaking ghost of a coolant temp problem for a few years now.... but i will skip all that bs, and everything about my mutt of a jeep and cut straight to it, as i am pretty sure i will have her fixed manana... but i read something tonight, and just want to be sure gauge isn't bad... but once i chase this thing down tomorrow, i will be sure to update you all

off another forum "Then test the gauge by grounding the single "Sender" wire to the block and momentarily going key-on. If the gauge goes full tilt, the gauge is good. Then replace the "Sender". "

that was off some bronco site... anywho...
so question is if i do this to my jeep... same concept correct? it should peg at hot?

thanks all ahead of time... and wish me luck
hopefully i can have peace of mind after tomorrow

Yep
Same thing should happen

But if the fuel gauge regulator is bad, it wont guarantee the temp gauge is working correctly. Just that it's responding.
