The website i am getting all the info on is http://www.jeepz.com/forum/engine/16904-tfi-ignition-upgrade.html they dont say anything about plugs on there, anything else anyone would recommend i get or some tips on doing this upgrade would be appreciated.

I use Autolites. I mean, you are using a mostly Ford ignition, why not go all the way and use Ford spark plugs?

I have never seen any mention of using a different type plug than the stock number in any of those write-ups. Just open them up to 0.045 from 0.035. I use either the standard copper plus or the truck plug (both Champion).

Well, you might ask me, since I'm 'TeamRush' that 'Jeepz.com' gives credit to for the upgrade!
![]() And you should use a PREMIUM spark plug for your year/type of engine. If you have an '81 CJ with a (guessing) 258, then get an Autolite Premium plug for an '81 CJ with a 258. Gap should be between 0.040" and 0.045" after you do the large cap and tall rotor upgrade. If you have a V-8, you should upgrade the ignition coil to an E-core coil. If you have a I-6, then the coil is an option, and not completely a necessity. NOW! Bear in mind that your 28 year old ignition module might not live up to the new parts and new demands... Consider using a 'Stealth HEI' if it quits on you... That's simply taking the 'Guts' out of your existing module, and substituting a GM HEI module for the Ford 'Guts'. Costs about $25 and takes about 2 hours to do. http://www.junkyardgenius.com/ignition/jeep/HEI01.html In fact, I'm addressing some module questions over there right now as we are communicating... As 'TeamRush'...
