team rush base flop

Hello. I read about the team rush upgrade and it sounded good. I bought a base adapter, cap and rotor for a 79 f350 with a 460. I have no idea how to attach the cap base and it doesn't even seem to slip over my aluminum distributor assembly properly. assuming it does how do I attach it down? it has 2 screws inside but they don't line up with anything on the distributor. please advise with detailed instructions.

Spin it 180? I was under the impression it just screws down, but it has a notch so the cap only fits one way I think.

Maybe. In the Team Rush thread there is a MSD alternative. That worked well on mine.

The stock V8 Motorcraft distributer doesn't have a retaining tab for the big cap adapter. You'll have to fab something up, or the adapter and cap will spin on the dizzy housing.
