Tach Question

In the process of removing and replacing the 258 in my 84 CJ7, I have disconnected the wire that tells the tach how many RPM's the engine is turning. Can anyone tell me where this wire attaches to the engine? It appears to be a aftermarket tach, but I don't know if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated...

It should go to your ignition coil.

I agree should be the coil, but can't remember if + or - side I think it's the + side.
